The Moffitt Biomedical Library now subscribes to the R2 Digital Library from Rittenhouse. With over 5,000 titles, R2 Digital Library is one of the most comprehensive e-book platforms for medical, nursing, and allied health resources.
Currently, the e-books available on the site are part of a PDA (Patron Driven Acquisition) model. Here are some facts about the PDA model:
- Each title can be accessed up to 3 times (total, not per user); on the 3rd time a title is accessed institutionally, the library will receive a notification.
- If a title has been accessed 3 times institutionally, the e-book will revert to only showing a table of contents with no full-text access.
- Until the library purchases the title, only the table of contents for the e-book will be accessible.
- If you are interested in a title that only shows the table of contents, please email library@moffitt.org with the citation information, and we will consider it for purchase.
Sign up for an account with your Moffitt email address to save titles and build your own personal collection for quick access. Making an account will also allow you to save your search history, create bookmarks, save course links, and much more.
The e-books are searchable by practice area, title, author, publisher, and much more. An A-Z option allows searching by preselected subjects/keywords; the results will provide whole e-book titles and chapter selections.
